The Robert Johnson/Gibson Guitar New Generation Winner for 2010 is Grant Austin Taylor, from Norfolk, Virginia.
Grant is a 14 year old blues musician and an active member of the Natchel Blues Network. He has been passionately performing and writing blues music since the age of eight. At the age of eleven, he was awarded Best Orginal Blues Rock Artist by the Young Artist Awards in Hollywood, California.
Grant has been involved with various charities headlining events, including St. Judes, raising over $86,000.00 last year. He has played at various blues festivals in North Carolina, New jersey, New York, Virginia, and Tennessee. Buddy Guy invited Grant on stage to jam with him and introduced him as the future of the blues. He has also opened for Joe Bonamassa, Steve Miller, and many other national acts.

Zakk Knight 2009 Robert Johnson- Gibson Guitar New Generation Award Winner

Zakk Knight, age 15, of Indianapolis, Indiana WON the 2009 New Generation Award. Zakk was presented with the award at the Robert Johnson Birthday Celebration . He received a Gibson "Robert Johnson" edition guitar and a certificate signed by Claud Johnson (son of Robert Johnson).
The amazingly talented Zakk gave a stellar performance at the Robert Johnson Birthday Blast on May 9, 2009. His winning entry can be viewed here.

2008 NEW GENERATION AWARD WINNER honoring the most talented and promising young blues musican of the year was presented to Gabriel Lambirth at The Robert Johnson Blues Jam 2008 held on May 10. Gabriel joined our lineup of stars in performance and received a special edition Robert Johnson Gibson acoustic guitar made especially for the recipient of this award.

16 year old Tyler Bryant of Honey Grove Texas, was presented with the Robert Johnson Gibson New Generation Award for aspiring young blues artists. Bryant gave a stellar acoustic solo performance and was then joined by 2006 winner Patrick Droney for a half an hour set. "This is such an amazing honor" said Bryant."I feel so blessed to receive this, I'm lucky because I was born knowing what I want to do."
